Chapter 41

t/n: ahh I made a mistake but NU picked it up too quickly before my slow-ass figure out what happened I’m this is not SFWD chapter 41 but Qizi chapter 41 if you came from NU I’ll link it the proper SFWD 18

When Ying Feng woke up the next morning, Ling Xiao was sleeping very deeply. He probably hadn’t had such a good sleep for a long time, and even the movement of Ying Feng getting up did not disturb him.

Without waking Ling Xiao, Ying Feng left the dormitory alone and went to a cold weapon shop according to the address he inquired about. Although Tianxiu had many high-tech weapons, the dagger was always everyone’s personal weapon. Even in today’s modern industrialization, the dagger manufacturing industry had always maintained the traditional model shape dagger.

When Ying Feng entered the shop, the owner of the shop who was working at the desk did not lift his head. Hearing a visitor entered, he buried his head and asked, “What do you need help with?”

Ying Feng walked over and saw that he was sharpening the blade of a dagger carefully. “The previous dagger was broken, and I want to get a new one.”

The shop owner then raised his head and observed his eyes, “To be able to break capital’s dagger, just how hard is that object you stabbed? Seeing that you are an Adult, did you bring your Qizi’s dagger?”

     “It’s his that is broken.”

“Then did you bring your own?”

Ying Feng didn’t understand why he had to bring one, “Is there a relationship between the two?”

“It’s not really necessary. If you didn’t bring it, I can only give you a generic one, which is the one used in the Nestling stage.”

“What’s the difference between the Nestling and Adult dagger?”

The shop owner simply took out two of the most common daggers, and attached them handle to handle. With one force, the two daggers instantly combined into one weapon that could attack in both directions.

“Did you see it? All the Nestling daggers in the capital can be combined like this,” He twisted his wrist a few times, the offensive was impermeable and could stab the enemy from any angle. “But Adults like to use their daggers independently and make a little decoration on the handle that only the Qizhu and the Qizi can get together.”

It was the first time Ying Feng heard that the dagger had this function, so he also took out his own and gave it to him.

“Some spouses engrave the initials of the names of both parties, some engrave the date of the contract, and some engrave emblems or totems. What do you want to engrave?”

Ying Feng thought for a while, “Kui.”

“That SSS rare creature Kui? What a rare request.”

The shop owner designed the pattern and sculpted it while chatting with Ying Feng.

“You know, nowadays there are endless weapons of mass destruction, and regional strikes are unmatched. Why should each of us be equipped with such an ancient cold weapon that can almost be eliminated?”

     “Why?”

“Because the Tianxiu people attack and dodge very quickly, the long-range attack weapons that need to be aimed at will slow down our speed, and they will be more likely to become the enemy’s target when they are stationary. This is one of the reasons.”

“As for the second reason, a long time ago, the dagger was an indispensable weapon for a killer. It was not used to kill others, but to kill yourself. Suicide in a critical moment, so that you will not fall into the enemy’s hands and be used to betray and leak employer’s information.”

“You said we were killers before?”

The shop owner smiled, “This question is hard to answer, but it is certain that many foreigners are very interested in our genetic makeup. They hope to capture a Tianxiu person alive and study our biological structure that is different from them.”

“They want to dig out our eyes to see why we can see things in bright light and darkness; They want to dissect our bodies to find the secret why we won’t be infected with diseases; They want to know why we only need to keep our heads and hearts intact while important organs can be regenerated.”

“But the reason why they have not succeeded for thousands of years is because no Tianxiu person will be captured alive. Do you know what I mean?”

He pointed the tip of the dagger in his hand and did a faint stabbing in his chest, “At a critical moment, when the blow is made, the soul will automatically return to the Lighthouse, leaving no bodies behind.”

“So, this is the real meaning of the dagger’s existence. No matter how many centuries pass, the result will be the same.”

While speaking, he carved the pattern on the two daggers. One inscribed with white lines and another inscribed with black lines, seamlessly identical.

The shop owner destroyed the pattern after confirming that there was no problem, “Now the dagger you and your Qizi have is unique, and no one will be able to use this pattern in the future. Even if it is lost, both of the daggers need to be redone…It cannot be inscribed by itself.”

After Ying Feng thanked him, he took two processed daggers and arrived at the scheduled second stop.

Books were the second ancient product of this era that had not been eliminated. It was said that the ancestors of the Tianxiu people had supreme wisdom, and their book collection was unmatched in the galaxy. The works they created had been translated into multiple languages and circulated widely. .

Today, when alternatives to books emerged endlessly, paper books were still preserved and had always been the first choice for people to gain knowledge. This was not a retrogression of civilization, but respect to the predecessors.

Since Ying Feng had always had little interactions with others, he preferred to use this method to learn everything he wanted to know. The social science bookshelf in the library was a field he had never set foot in. There lay a few theoretical books coldly on the top shelf. While the rest were some of the best-sellers with colorful covers, such as “A Hundred Questions about the Newly Married Qizhu and Qizi”, “Looking for the Lost Soul-Entering Qizi’s Inner World” and so on.

Ying Feng looked up and scanned the bookshelf on the top floor in turn. There was a heavy tome that was very eye-catching. The title was “The History of the Development of the Tianxiu Marriage System”. He reached for it but stopped when he touched the spine of the book. He remembered that he had to stand a little on his toes before when he came to the library to get the top-shelf books. However, now…… he looked down at his feet, his heels didn’t leave the ground at all.

Ying Feng took down the book. The first chapter in the catalog was the origin of the contract, but when he turned to this chapter, he found that the relevant pages had been cut off with a knife. Not one page was spared.

He put the book back in confusion. Opened another book on a similar subject, and discovered the same thing. It seemed that someone deliberately destroyed this part, not wanting future generations to know the truth about the origin of the bond.

Putting aside the doubts in his mind for the time being, Ying Feng chose two other theoretical books that were irrelevant to them. This time the inside pages of the books were complete and were all about the psychology of both parties. When he selected his book and was about to leave, he inadvertently glanced at a best-selling book titled “Comfort and Care in the Dangerous Period of Qizi”. After hesitating for a while staring at the title, Ying Feng finally reached for it.

Another hand also stretched out at the same time as him, and the target was the one next to Ying Feng’s target. Because it was too close, Ying Feng’s hand almost touched him.

The two turned their heads subconsciously. After seeing each other, one frowned and the other was taken aback. They even accidentally dropped the book they were holding.

Ying Feng hadn’t seen this person since he had spoken coldly to Zhu Yue in the cafeteria that day. He never expected to see him on this occasion. Although Zhu Yue had always looked scared and frightened to the outside world, his performance was particularly prominent today. Ying Feng was keenly aware of this and then looked down at the scattered books, “Tianxiu Marriage Law” and “Qizhu’s Right”.  “Qizi Theory”…..All of them were books on the relationship between spouses, and none of them were practical for Zhu Yue to use now.

Zhu Yue also didn’t expect to meet Ying Feng, the other’s insightful eyes seemed to be able to see through the secrets in his heart. He hurriedly picked up the book on the ground, turned around and left without saying a word. It was an extremely rare sight for him to leave when he usually ran after Ying Feng when he had nothing to do.

Ying Feng vigilantly analyzed the matter in his mind, but still couldn’t figure out why he wanted to use this kind of book. After much deliberation, he still couldn’t understand it. In the end, he took a few books he wanted to borrow to the checkout.

Zhu Yue nervously ran back to the dormitory with books in his arms. His chest was still pounding after closing the door. After confirming that he was safe now, Zhu Yue carefully moved the pillow and mattress aside. It took him a lot of effort to transform the place into a secret layer. After the bed board was opened, the calming soul stone inside was exposed.

Once he hid the calming soul stone here, he would have the same strange dream every night. It was vague at first, but then it gradually became clear. Although he had not yet figured out the meaning of this dream, he had a bold idea that bred in the heart.

There was a sudden knock on the door from outside. Zhu Yue was taken aback. He quickly restored the secret layer to its original state, disguising the surface as ordinary as possible, and then opened the door.

Outside the door, there were instructors, a training dean, and even two soldiers in military uniforms. Zhu Yue’s heart suddenly rose to his throat.

“Hello students, because it is suspected that dangerous goods may have been brought into the dormitory building and will cause hidden dangers to everyone’s safety, we need to investigate every part of the dormitory. Hope you can cooperate.”

Zhu Yue swallowed. He knew clearly that there was no dangerous substance at all. Their goal was the calming soul stone.

But he had no way to refuse, he just lowered his head and flashed to the side while praying in his heart that the secret layer would not be discovered.

Members of the military conducted a detailed inspection of his dormitory, and after searching with no results, one of them fell on the bedside. Zhu Yue’s heartbeat almost stopped. Fortunately, that person just looked at it, then exchanged glances with his companions, and shook their heads to indicate that there was no problem here.

“Excuse the intrusion,” They left Zhu Yue’s room and knocked on the door of another dormitory next door.

Ying Feng had just entered the dormitory not long ago. When he came back, Ling Xiao was already awake but was lying lazily on the bed. When he saw him coming in, the laziness immediately became a wariness. The pillow he held in his arms slowly tightened to use as a defensive prop. Ying Feng could almost see the hair on his back stand up a little bit at a time.

In fact, Ying Feng suddenly facing him again also feels unnatural. When the accident happened in the mine last time, his mind was not sober, while Ling Xiao was close to unconscious state. However, yesterday, he was sober the entire time, and Ling Xiao must have been too. There is no complete amnesia. The two people who were indifferent to each other suddenly had a close bond. For the moment, neither of them could adapt.

Just as the embarrassment spread, a knock on the door broke the deadlock. It was the same group of people and the same statement. Ying Feng immediately thought of the calming soul stone instructor mentioned that day. Unexpectedly, this stone was so important that it made the military unhesitatingly come to search in person.

He turned sideways and let people into the room, as Ling Xiao had already taken advantage of this period to get up from the bed.

The instructor was very relieved to see this. The real honeymoon period should be spent by two people hugging and kissing in bed.

The military personnel searched every corner of the dormitory, and naturally, they did not let go of the box that Ling Xiao was extremely nervous about. When Ling Xiao saw that the box was found out, he immediately rushed to hug it and refused to let it go.

His actions made everyone suspicious, “We need to check the contents.”

“There is nothing you are looking for!” Ling Xiao strongly refused, “This is my personal belongings, and I refuse to have it checked.”

“We have a search warrant,” When one of them finished speaking, and the other immediately showed the documents, “We have the right to inspect every item in this dormitory building.”

“No!” Ling Xiao hugged tighter, “I won’t show it to you!”

The two exchanged their eyes again, and at the same time, they took a step forward, with a strong action of grabbing.

     “Wait!”

     “Stop!”

Two voices sounded at the same time, one from the instructor and the other from Ying Feng, who had never spoken.

The instructor stepped forward and started persuading, “Ling Xiao, they just want to take a look. They won’t take your things, so just let them take a peek.”

“I don’t want it!” Ling Xiao simply refused, “You want to open this box? Not until you kill me!”

“This…” Even the instructor didn’t understand why he reacted so strongly.

“I know what you are looking for,” Ying Feng’s voice came from the other side of the room, “I also promise that it is not what you want.”

Several people turned back and looked at him.

“In that incident, Ling Xiao and I were rescued by the military. We performed a full-body examination at the military medical station. If anything was brought out, it would have been discovered at that time. It is impossible to secretly bring it back.”

“Exactly,” His words reminded the instructor, “I personally escorted them out of the mine, and can also guarantee that there was absolutely no calming soul stone on them at the time.” Knowing that his words may have no weight, he threw out Fu Yao to hold the fort, “Major General Fu Yao was there at that time. You can check with him.”

The two soldiers were still dubious, their eyes still circling on the box in Ling Xiao’s arms.

“The box contains our personal belongings,” Ying Feng knew that they would not give up unless they gave a proper reason. “You know what it is.”

The people present were taken aback. No, we don’t know what it is.

Ying Feng looked hesitant to say something, “We have just grown up, and we have just obtained the permission to enter the online Adult zone.”

It suddenly dawned upon every one that there was no unborn child who secretly yearned for the Adult section of Tianyuan.com. The first thing many people did in Adulthood was to go and feast their eyes. There were all kinds of strange items for sale in the Adult area. It was inevitable that you would buy them out of curiosity and try them. If that was the reason, then Ling Xiao’s behavior was not surprising.

The instructor’s eyes lit up again. ‘Didn’t think that the two of you, who were unwilling to get together, are actually quite open when playing’. But the dean of discipline scowled.

“As an Adult student, this behavior of you is understandable, but please note that most of your surroundings are full of undeveloped Nestling. Please take good care of your personal belongings so as not to cause bad influence.”

     Ying Feng replied blankly, “Yes.”

Ling Xiao lowered his head, his fingers tightly grabbing onto the box. Others saw him like this and thought he was just shy.

The people in the military accepted this reason, mainly with the instructor’s words as a guarantee, “We will go back and confirm with Major General Fu Yao… Sorry if there was any rude behavior just now.”

Ying Feng nodded and sent the group out.

After turning around, Ling Xiao’s box once again was out of sight, hidden in who knows where. Ying Feng knew that what he said just now would embarrass Ling Xiao, but he didn’t refute it from the beginning to the end. This meant that once the contents of the box were exposed, the result would be even more embarrassing to him than the Adult props. So regarding the contents, Ying Feng became more and more curious.

“Are you still not going to let me take a look?”

Ling Xiao’s attitude became different from usual, neither refused nor agreed.

His eyes flickered and floated to the side before finally giving him an ambiguous answer.

“If one day I die, open it, and come take a look.”
