As soon as Ling Xiao went off from the Internet, he saw Ying Feng sitting across from him. He didn’t expect that he would come back immediately. Ling Xiao immediately became alert, like a threatened animal whose fur instantly stands up.

“What? Finally thought it through? Are you ready to come and beat me up?”

“Did you go to find Shen He?” Ying Feng asked bluntly.

Ling Xiao’s first reaction was that he had stalked him again, “Always asking despite knowing it, aren’t you tired of it? Or did you think of a way to force me to say it personally?”

“Don’t follow him.”Ying Feng simply gave the order this time.

Ling Xiao was taken aback for a moment, and vaguely guessed that Shen He had concealed the truth from him, but he didn’t intend to tell Ying Feng the truth. He jumped out of bed and went straight to the bathroom.

“I was impulsive when I shot out. You can hit me, I won’t fight back,” Ying Feng shouted behind him, “But I won’t allow you to join his organization.”

Although the first half of the sentence was a concession, he could not hear the tone of concession at all. Instead, he used the gesture of a benefactor to bring out the key points of the second half.

Ling Xiao had already filtered the first half of the sentence, until he heard the second half, his anger rose. He turned around and couldn’t help but swing his fist straight up. Although the torture over the past few days had consumed a lot of his stamina, being hit at such a close distance, Ying Feng’s nose would still not be able to escape the fate of fracture.

But just when Ling Xiao’s full blow that picked up the sound of the wind was only an inch away from the target, he actually stopped. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t move forward.

Ying Feng’s rebellious attitude made Ling Xiao full of contempt, “Aren’t you not going to fight back? Oh yes, does controlling belong to the fight back category? Don’t be hypocritical.”

“I didn’t,” Ying Feng clarified blankly, even if Ling Xiao’s hard fist was in front of him, he didn’t blink, “I didn’t control you.”

Ling Xiao retracted his hand in disbelief. He was really able to move, but once he waved it over again, it still stayed at where he was before.

“Ha,” he suddenly had a worse understanding, “As a Qizi, I don’t even have the right to attack the Qizhu? What a wonderful system, hahahaha.”

He simply gave up the idea of punching him, no matter what Ying Feng said next, he didn’t want to bother.

“If you choose to follow him, pick a place to stay, here or the prison.”

Ling Xiao turned a deaf ear to this naked threat, and went into the bathroom. What is the difference between his current state and being imprisoned?

The person in the mirror is as it was two days ago, but it has become less unbearable.  Ling Xiao thought, probably compared to Ying Feng, his face looked much pleasing to the eye.

He inhaled and exhaled into the mirror, repeating it three times, “This is the last day. The first two days have passed, and today it will also be no problem.”

He stretched out his fist and touched the person in the mirror, “Come on, Ling Xiao!”

Ling Xiao puffed himself up, took a towel, and went out.

Ying Feng kept watching him use a towel to tie up his hands with a lot of effort, and finally clenched the corner of the towel with his teeth to tie a knot.

     “What are you doing?”

Ling Xiao didn’t want to say that he almost got up the night before looking for a knife to harm himself. The pain had been increasing for the past two consecutive nights. He was afraid that when the night came and he started acting out he would be unable to control his impulse and do things that he regretted.

Even though he didn’t get an answer, Ying Feng somewhat guessed his intentions, “How can a towel restrain you? You can get rid of it casually.”

“All you see is one lock,” Ling Xiao tightened the knot again, “but I have three.”

Ying Feng was puzzled, “Where is it?”

     “It’s my determination and self-control.  “

After he said this, he turned around and fell down, “Don’t worry, I will never lose control and roll over to you, lest it affect your sleep.”

The last night of the chaotic period came quietly. The first night represented fear, the second night represented depression, and the third night represented severe cold. Ling Xiao was wrapped in a quilt and shrunk into a ball, feeling that his body had been frozen into ice.

What is more unbearable than severe cold was that heat source nearby.  A steady stream of tangible warmth came from his side, but stopped abruptly just as it was about to touch him.  How much he desires to be able to get closer and closer, but he subjectively resists this impulse completely.

Ling Xiao covered the quilt over his head and hugged himself as much as possible. The sound of teeth trembling in the dark became the only source of sound to accompany him in this long and unbearable night.

    ***

“Ling Xiao!” Ting Lei ran over with concern as soon as he saw Ling Xiao early in the morning. He habitually stretched out his hand to wrap his shoulders, but then remembered what happened yesterday. He turned midway and instead scratched the back of his head. “Were you alright yesterday?”

Ling Xiao knew that he had good intentions, but it was very difficult for him to accept how everyone treats him as a weak party, “I’m okay, how about you?”

“What can I do, but Ying Feng’s current strength is really…” Halfway through his words, he remembered that the reason why Ying Feng was so strong that he could lift him up with one hand was due to Ling Xiao’s ability, he immediately changed another topic.

“But having said that, what is going on is physical training, can you stand it?  Otherwise, it’s better to ask for leave,” He always feels that Ling Xiao’s face is worse than yesterday, like he can fall down at any second even when running 500 meters.

“Don’t think I’m so weak,” Ling Xiao was already preparing to warm up.

“It’s you who just wants to act strong,” Ting Lei was anxious for him, “Sometimes showing weakness will not cost you anything.”

“Assemble!” The instructor blew the whistle, and not surprisingly, saw Ying Feng and Ling Xiao in the team.

“The goal of physical training today is 30,000 meters. This distance is already the limit for some weaker races, but it is the most basic requirement for us. If someone is admitted to the military academy in the future, they will find that this is just used for warm up.  Everyone has to finish within a specified time frame for the warm-up. If you can’t reach it, run again tomorrow. Ready, start!”

Each student chose the most suitable initial speed, and set off one after another. Ling Xiao, who used to always be the first to run in front of everyone, just ran modestly in the middle. A few friends who were worried about him followed.  As for Ying Feng, because his physical strength and speed are completely different than what it used to be,he left everyone behind.

With less than half the distance to the end, Ling Xiao’s footsteps evidently slowed down. Even people who normally don’t have much stamina, breathe less quickly than him. Everyone can tell that he is in poor condition.

“Ling Xiao, ask for a leave, the teacher understands.”

Ling Xiao shook his head and picked up his pace. Leaving everyone with no choice but to keep up.

Ying Feng ran the entire distance, and it only took two-thirds of his usual time. For him, this distance was really only a warm-up.

The instructor admired his proud disciple even more, “How about it, are you ready to apply for Yutian?”

Ying Feng said disapprovingly, “I don’t want to stay in school for inspection.”

“At your current level, you might even be able to choose Yutian’s specialty major will. I heard that Major General Fu Yao is now serving as a guest instructor at Yutian. If you are lucky, you might be able to go to his department.”

Ying Feng recalled the name, only to remember that he was that short officer.

“Heh,” He still remembered the punch the other party gave him.

“Fu Yao is Tianxiu’s youngest major general. He is quite capable, but he is not the most famous.”

     “Why is that?”

“He is the first person to complete the coming-of-age ceremony in the history of Tianxiu, completing it during his fourth year in Nestling.”

After speaking, his eyes glinted evilly, “Everyone has secretly said that he is not tall for this reason.”

Then his expression became serious for a second, “But you shouldn’t talk about it in front of him, especially his height, otherwise you will end badly.”

Ying Feng thought about it, as how miserable the outcome is, he had already personally experienced it.

After a while, the classmates came back one after another, but Ling Xiao was not included in it. The always obnoxious person, who always rushed to the first place, was lagging behind today, making even Ying Feng feel uncomfortable.

When Ling Xiao finally appeared in Yingfeng’s field of vision, it was already after a long period of time. Even if he was in his worst condition, there’s no way he would ever run at this speed.

Ling Xiao’s last distance was completely supported by a single breath. He would never allow himself to fall in the middle. Even if he had to grit his teeth to run the entire distance, even if his throat tasted sweet, breathing became difficult, and legs were heavy as if full of osmium.

At the moment when he arrived at the finish line, as if he had completed a certain task, Ling Xiao’s eyesight went black and finally fell completely. However, unlike yesterday, he never stood up again.

“Ling Xiao!” There was an exclamation from the crowd, everyone surrounded him from all directions, but they were apprehensive about Yingfeng, so they turned their heads to ask him for help.

Ying Feng walked over and found Ling Xiao fainted on the ground, motionless, seeming to have lost consciousness.

“Ying Feng,” Ting Lei was secretly angry, “Something was already wrong with Ling Xiao’s condition yesterday, and now he became like this when he only ran 30,000 meters today. Exactly what did you do to him?”

“What are you still going on about,” A girl interrupted them anxiously, “Quickly send him to the medical room.”

Ying Feng leaned over and hugged Ling Xiao around the waist. He walked towards the direction of the medical building without a word, leaving the worried classmates behind.

His strength had almost doubled, so he didn’t need any effort to hold Ling Xiao at all. The person in his arms was pale, his eyes closed tightly, and the hair on the temples softly stuck to the sides of his cheeks due to sweat.

Yao Tai opened the door and saw such a picture. Her face looked infinitely ugly. .

“Take him to the bed,” She coldly directed him.

Ying Feng did so, and then watched her connect each test instrument onto him.

The results of the inspection came out soon. After reading the report, Yao Tai couldn’t wait to beat Ying Feng.

Ying Feng doesn’t know why she looked and gave himself such a vicious glare then proceeded to connect a treatment equipment to Ling Xiao’s temple.

Yao Tai pressed several keys on the instrument. A blue number appeared on the panel and began to rise gradually.

“Do you know what this is?” she asked angrily.

     Ying Feng shook his head.

“A machine used to aid sleep and can temporarily put a person into deep sleep. However, after waking up, the previously accumulated mental stress will hit twice as hard back to the user, which is almost equivalent to drinking poison to quench thirst. If it is not a last resort, no one will use it. He is currently sleeping very deeply and will not hear us.”

    Ying Feng frowned.

“I asked you to take good care of him. That’s how you took care of him? Did you know that he hasn’t eaten for three days.”

   Ying Feng looked confused, “Why?”

“Let me ask you, did you apply for a secondary card for him?”

“…He didn’t mention it to me.”

Yao Tai strongly restrained her urge to make a move.

“Didn’t I tell you that after becoming a Qizi, their main card will be deactivated, and all above amount will be transferred to your card. Didn’t you find any extra amount added into your account?”

Ying Feng just remembered that after returning from field work, the card had four yuan more. The change was so small that he had thought he remembered it wrong.

“He didn’t ask about it, but shouldn’t you have pointed it out?” Yao Tai pointed at them angrily, “One did not ask and another did not question. Did he want to wait until he starved to death before he finally speaks?”

“He didn’t eat or sleep for three days, and he just did a lot of physical exercises. I think it’s a miracle that he was able to hold it before he fainted! Even with our physique, we still can’t stand this toss!”

“I think your period of disorder is more serious than him. People who can’t control their emotions are not qualified to be Qizhu! If I had known about this, I would rather send him to the CDC than to you, at least he will not starve to death !”

Yao Tai from head to toe held a reprimanding posture, while Ying Feng never said a word.

Yao Tai was too angry that she had to stop and relax for a while before speaking again.

“I solemnly warn you now that his psychological rating has reached E-, and there is only such a small gap from mandatory hospital admission, but this is not the most serious.”

“He has now suffered a mild mental injury. This injury will accompany him for a lifetime and will never be cured. Have you seen the principal? He is a typical example of severe mental injury. Do you also want Ling Xiao to develop into his direction?”

“If you continue to behave like this, he will die. I am not kidding with you!”  She tried her best to suppress her tone, “Ying Feng, Tainxiu people can only have one partner in their lifetime. If the Qizi dies before it is fully developed, Qizhu will stop growing, and your ability will be capped. Even if you only want to selfishly consider yourself, and you should’ve also taken care of him!  Now lying on the bed alive is the only Qizi in your life, throw out your unrealistic ideas as soon as possible!  “

Ying Feng turned his head uncomfortably and looked at Ling Xiao on the hospital bed. Only then did he notice that Ling Xiao’s chest rises and falls faster than ordinary people. It seems as if after inhaling only half of his breath he couldn’t help but immediately puff out a breath, just like an animal.

“Why is he panting so fast?”

“Qizi’s heartbeat and breathing will be faster than before. Don’t you feel that your heartbeat has slowed down? The lifespan of Qizi is on average lower than that of the Qizhu, plus such an irresponsible Qizhu, like yourself, had spared no effort to lower the average value. You made such a huge contribution.”

Yao Tai glanced at the time, “He can sleep for another hour. The period of disorder has passed, but he was dragged on by you for another day. When the spirit recoils tonight, it will be more painful than the previous few days. I want to see what you will do then.”

She shook her head and left, leaving Ying Feng and Ling Xiao alone in the medical room. He walked to Ling Xiao’s bed, as the other party was sleeping peacefully. Someone who usually flared their teeth and claws would also hide their sharpness when sleeping.  The quarrel just now did not affect him at all, and Ying Feng could not imagine that this was his first sleep after the Adult ceremony.

The blue light on the instrument flickers, and the numbers representing time are counting down mercilessly. In this cruel system, difficulties can only be overcome by human spirit. Even the most advanced medical instruments can only give Qizi a short breath.

When Ling Xiao woke up, the room was empty. He probably had just enjoyed the deepest sleep in his life, so deep that there was no dream to dive into.

But after the sleep problem is solved, the feeling of hunger becomes stronger.  He sat up and found that unknown instruments were still connected to the top of his head. He removed them easily. He was about to get out of bed, but accidentally bumped into something strange.

He lowered his head, and there was a bag of banana-flavored energy bread beside him.
